Topshop's New Collection- The Face

So Topshop have developed a new collection for their make up line and I was so lucky to be able to try it before it is released. It's called The Face, aptly named as all of the products are used on your face! There are 5 products in this collection: a foundation, two primers, a concealer and a concealer palette. This collection doesn't come out until Thursday 18th September so I would definitely save that date and if you have a Topshop near you I would go check these products out on Thursday! So leading up to Thursday, each day I am going to post in depth reviews on each of these products so if you fancy finding out about each of these make sure you come back! Obviously I'm going to tell you a bit more about them now though as well. First of all though, can we all just admire the packaging! It's so beautiful. I think it looks like high end packaging yet all of the products are affordable- bonus!

The Airbrush Primer and The Colour Correcting Primer

The Airbrush Primer is meant to blur out the appearance of pores and any blemishes you may have. It also includes photo-reflecting particles in it which makes your skin look glowing. The Colour Correction Primer gives a matte finish to your skin as it has oil absorbing properties and is meant to tighten your pores. It also reduces any redness you may have in your skin. The Airbrush primer has no colour to it where as The Colour Correction Primer is green which is how it combats the redness in your skin.

The Concealer and The Concealer Palette
The Concealer is a very lightweight concealer but still gives high coverage. It is in a pump form which allows you to not waste much. It contains Algae and Golden Chamomile which helps get rid of those dark circles we all don't like and help with any puffiness under the eyes we might have. This concealer is meant to last for up to 16 hours. The Concealer Palette has three different shades in it which allows you to create your own customised concealer shade which is perfect for your skin tone. It also includes a translucent powder which sets the concealer in place making sure it does not move. With this palette you can erase any discolouration you may have in your skin and get rid of any blemishes.

The Foundation

This foundation comes in five shades and is meant to adapt to your skin tone when you apply it. Because of this it is meant to give you a really natural finish. This foundation includes silicone in it which makes it feel so smooth on your skin and weightless. The coverage is meant to last all day too.

So that's a little bit of information on each of the products, I didn't want to give too much detail or my thoughts and opinions as they will come later on in the next few days. Overall, I do have to say I am very impressed with the collection! So I would love for you to come back tomorrow where I will be sharing all of my thoughts and opinions on the two different primers, the cost of them and what they were like.
Much love,
Lucy x

Face Mask Friday- Superdrug's Detoxifying Mask

Here it is again- Face Mask Friday! Can you believe this is the fourth week of doing this! How time flies when your having fun! I cannot believe I've been blogging for over a month now. So as I mentioned in last weeks post I bought two Superdrug face masks as they had a 'buy one get the second half price' offer on their face masks. This is their Detoxifying face mask for normal/oily skin. It is a mud mask and contains Dead Sea mud which is meant to unclog your pores, draw everything out and leave your skin lovely and soft.

As you can see I've not been having the best skin week *sigh* haha. I've broken out in quite a few places and some are really sore and under the skin and some are fully erupted on my face... Excellent. I think this is because I ran out of my Differin gel early on in the week and I haven't been able to get my prescription until today so I have been without it for a few days. So I guessed this would be a good time to try this mask as hopefully it would unclog my pores.

I have to say when I first started putting this on I was a bit disappointed with it. It came out of the tube nice and thick but when I was putting it in my face it didn't spread evenly but kind of separated on my face. Because of this I found it very difficult to get it even on my face. As you can tell in the photo above, there looks like some areas didn't have any of the mask on or very little. You have to leave this on for 10-15 minutes while it dries. I was surprised once it started drying because it did really feel like I couldn't move my face so it seemed to be actually working. I kept this on for 15 minutes and by the end of it I could hardly move any part of my face. The photo below is after having the mask on for 15 minutes.
So this mask does seem to have calmed the redness down on my spots and really calmed the redness all over my face. My pores do look slightly smaller and quite clean too so I have no doubt that this mask works on unclogging your pores. However, this mask has left me quite oily. I normally do get an oily t-zone during the day when wearing make up but I'm just sitting in the house and my t-zone is really oily after using this. My skin seems to always react this way when I use a product for oily skin. Because of this I'm not a huge fan of the mask as my face doesn't feel nice and soft like it did with the other masks I've tried. Although, just because it doesn't work for my doesn't mean it won't work for you :).

Overall, I have to say this mask has been my least favourite out of all of the ones I have tried so far. I did actually have high hopes for this one after how good the last Superdrug mask was. I am feeling really oily after using it which I really don't like but it has really calmed the redness in my skin. I don't think I will be using this one again, if you have tried this let me know your thoughts on it :).
Also I have been able to try out a new make up range (so exciting) which isn't available yet but I will be putting reviews and information on it within the next few days so keep an eye out for that :).
Much love,

Lee Stafford Argan Oil Flexible Hold Hairspray

Hello everyone back again :) I wasn't going to review this product but I've had it for a little while now so I thought I would let you all know my thoughts on it as I didn't even know Lee Stafford did an Argan Oil range. I use hairspray every day  and normally I just use L'Oreal Elnett but I thought I would branch out haha :). So I was looking around Boots a few weeks ago, as per usual haha, and I came across this range by Lee Stafford. I had used Lee Stafford products before and some I have absolutely loved and others I haven't been so keen on so I was a bit undecided on whether to try this or not. The thing that swayed me was I have never seen an Argan Oil hairspray before. There has been a lot of hype about Argan Oil and how good it is for your hair so I thought I'd give this a try. Now this is a bit pricey for a hairspray, I think anyways, it's was £9.99. So it has Pro-Argan complex in and promises that it will add shine to your hair and be light weight so you can still run your fingers through it.
I'll tell you a bit about my hair first l, so I have fine hair but I have a lot of it. It is quite unruly but can be quite flat to my head and not have much volume, which I hate. Due to this I normally have to use quite a lot of product to keep my hair in certain styles. So when I first tried this it was a day when I had my hair down. First of all I love the smell of this hairspray. It doesn't have the typical hairspray smell, it has quite a sweet smelling scent to it, which I really like. Obviously because your spraying it into your hair, your hair ends up smelling like it so I was smelling my hair all day, I love it! It was very light weight too, it didn't feel too heavy and at the end of the day I was able to brush it out no problem. I didn't realise any extra shine though and I haven't noticed any when I've used this and I have been using it for the last two weeks now. So if you were wanting to get it for that reason I would maybe choose a different product. It does say on the back of the bottle to hold it quite close to your hair for extra shine which I have tried especially on my fringe but I did feel like that made my fringe quite crunchy feeling- that could be because I used quite a lot though. I like to keep my fringe in place all day and I have to say this hairspray did just that, it did not move :).
I have also used it when wearing my hair up and it is so long lasting. Normally when I wear my hair up as the day goes on little strands fall out of the bobble but when I had this on I felt like that didn't happen as much, so although it is light weight I feel like it is quite strong.
Overall, I would recommend this hairspray if you were looking for something that smells lovely and it quite a strong hold hairspray but still makes your hair feel nice. I wouldn't try it though if you were just looking for extra shine as I haven't found that it added any shine to my hair but maybe try one of the other Argan Oil products that he does. The products that are in this range are:
-Argan Oil
-Shampoo
-Conditioner
-Deep Nourishing Treatment
-Heat Defence Spray
-Miracle Shine Spray
-Detangling Comb infused with Argan Oil
-Flexible Hold Hairspray
-Moisture Injection Dry Conditioner
-Anti-frizz Spray
I will try some more of this range out and do some more reviews. If there is any particular product that you really would like me to try and then review let me know in the comments, I will be more than happy to do so :). Also if you have tried any of this range let me know your thoughts on it in the comments.
Much love,
Lucy x

A La Carte Smudge Proof Eyebrow Definer

So I got this product in my August edition Love ME Beauty box and I said I would keep you updated on   how it works and if the colour was the right shade for me and so on. I was initially worried about receiving
this shade as it is in the shade Blonde and as you can tell my hair is naturally a very dark brown. When I   swatched it I was quite surprised as it was darker than I thought it would be so I thought I would give this a try.

I normally use Rimmel's eyebrow pencil which I love but I did want to try this out because not only is it smudge proof, it's also more like a felt tip and I have never used an eyebrow product like this before. When I was trying it out because the tip is so fine you can fill in your eyebrows very precisely and it also gives the impression of fine hairs rather than you have clearly drawn your eyebrows on.
As you can tell I have quite thick eyebrows that is my personal preference and although they are quite full I feel like there are some areas that are quite sparse and I like the way they look filled in and with a bit more of a defined shape. This pen makes them look quite natural and I think this shade actually looks alright on my eyebrows.
-Right eyebrow without any product.

                          Left eyebrow without any product-

- Left eyebrow with the eyebrow definer

                       Right eyebrow with eyebrow definer-

-Both eyebrows with the eyebrow definer

I have worn it twice now and every time I've worn it I like it more. I feel that because it is quite light and fine it's hard to make any mistakes which is a bonus. The formula of this is very wet which I like as it makes it not look chalky and it also makes your eyebrow hairs stick down to the skin so they aren't popping up all over. If you are someone who likes to carve out your eyebrows and give them a definite shape I would definitely recommend this product. It is very easy to shape your eyebrows using this as the tip is so fine and unlike a pencil it stays like this. The thing that annoys about eyebrow pencils is that they go blunt very quickly whereas with this product the tip will always stay that shape. This product is £23 to buy. I think that is quite expensive for a brow product but I do really like the way it looks and I think it is one of the best brow products I've tried especially because once its on it doesn't move. Sometimes when wearing a pencil I always worry that if I accidentally rub my face my eyebrow will rub off whereas I don't have that worry when I wear this one. I was having a look on the Boots website (my favourite shop haha) and I only found one brow product that was more of a pen style rather than a pencil or powder style so if you didn't want to splash out on A La Carte's Eyebrow Definer you could try Colorsports's alternative, I'll link it below for you.
Hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. Let me know if you have tried this product and what your thoughts are on it. Also if thick brows aren't your thing but you like to fill them in this would still be a great produt to try, I just prefer thicker eyebrows- each to their own :).
Much love

Love ME Beauty Box- August Edition

I've always wanted to try a beauty box subscription but there is so many different brands of them it's hard to choose which ones are right for you. I hadn't heard of Love ME Beauty before and it was when I was on Instagram that I found out about them. I follow Sarah Ashcroft (I'm sure you all know who she is) on there and she had posted that she was doing something with this brand. As I had never heard of them before I decided to check out their website. What appealed to me about this subscription box service is that you get 4/5 full size products which I really like rather than sample products. Also when you sign up you choose which box you would like. There is three editions of the box and you get to choose which one you would like to try. Obviously some people like to be surprised by what is in their box but I didn't know any of the brands featured in their boxes so it is still exciting to get to try new brands that you wouldn't have previously tried before :). I have to say as well this box is packaged beautifully, you all know I love good packaging haha. Inside you also get a leaflet letting you know what products are in your box, the price of them and a little bit of information about each one too. When reading through it I was shocked how much each product cost as you only pay £10 for each box you receive- the products in this box came to £64.94 if you were to buy then all separately, I think it's a pretty good deal.

Mirabella Lip Luster Liner- Bashful £10.50

This is the most perfect pink- I love this colour. Pink is one of my favourite lip colours to wear so I'll definitely get my use out of this pencil. It glides on so smoothly which I really like as some lip pencils can be quite hard to apply and it feels like it will be quite moisturising on your lips. It does contain Aloe Vera so that is probably why. It's also really pigmented. In the leaflet it advises to use this all over your lips and then to put a lip gloss over it. However, I'm not a massive fan of lip gloss so I will either just line my lips with this or I might try using this all over my lips and leaving it like that. I'm very excited to use this as I love lip products. I hadn't heard of this brand before and I know £10.50 is quite expensive for a pencil but so far it does seem worth it in my opinion.

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow- You're Toast £14.49

I was really surprised at how pigmented this eye shadow was. The main reason for choosing this edition of this box was this eye shadow as it looked like a colour that would suit most skin tones and eye colours. This colour is lovely, it is quite shimmery but isn't glittery or chunky so it seemed to blend out really nicely. I think this will look amazing on top of L'Oreal's colour tattoo in Eternal Gold. One of my favourite things about this product is that it is made cruelty free, I wish all cosmetics were made this way, maybe one day :). This was another brand that I hadn't heard off but I will definitely be having a look at what other products they make- very impressed!

A La Carte Smudge-Proof Eyebrow Definer- Blonde £23

I love brow products and trying different brands and types. This is in the shade Blonde but is quite dark so I'm hoping I can still use it as I have naturally really dark hair- going to give it a go! If not you can use this as an eyeliner also. When I swatched this it was really build-able and definitely smudge proof. It did not budge once it was on. I enjoyed that as I like my brows to stay in place especially on those days where your rushing around and busy you don't want your brows running down your face! I've never tried this type of brow product so I'm excited to try it. Depending on how this looks once on,I might purchase this is in the darker shade as I like how much this stays in place. I will keep you updated on this one!

Oriflame- Ecollagen Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream  £16.95

Out of all the products I received I think this is the one I will use the least. Not because I don't like it just I don't have any wrinkles yet and hopefully won't have any for a little while! I will probably use this once or twice but I do intend to give this to my mam and get her opinions on it seeing as she is older than me.It looks like a nice little product though and I like how it has the metal roller ball tip as this will feel really nice and cool underneath your eyes. I personally don't think it is too expensive for eye cream as I believe in skin care that it is worth spending the money if the products work- after all you only get one face you need to look after it! This eye cream contains Plant Stem Cell extract which will help stimulate collagen production and re-plump your skin. It does advise you to use this morning and evening. If any of you want any more information on this one let me know :).

I would definitely recommend this subscription box. I really love trying out new brands and I can't wait until the September edition- so excited. So I thought I would give you a little bit more information about these boxes. You can pay monthly for these boxes and it's only £10 per month and you also have to pay postage which is only £2.95. This company is very good with keeping in touch with you and each month they will send you an email when the different editions have been made up and then you can let them know which edition you want. I'm pretty sure if you don't let them know in time they pick for you based on your beauty profile which you set up when you make your account and I think this is very handy and a great idea. Also I mentioned Sarah Ashcroft earlier in my post, in case you did't know who she is,she is a fashion blogger and a YouTuber- I love her style and her blog I'll link it below for you :).

If you have any questions about this box let me know and I'll try and answer them :).

Outfit of the day-monochrome

So with Autumn coming I've been treating myself to a few staple items such as this dress and this gilet. Autumn/ winter fashion is my favourite, I love all the cosy layering and the darker colours :). I've been wearing quite a lot of monochrome lately and this dress is so comfy and easy to wear. The only thing that is a con about this dress is it creases really easily. I've paired it with black tights, leather jacket, fur gilet and doc martens. I love mixing different textures, especially leather and fur. This is definitely an outfit I will be wearing into winter. I love this gilet too and wanted a fur gilet for so long as I think it will go with loads of different outfits. Leather jackets are also a great staple to have, I think every girl should own one as they go with soo much and you can get really good copies that aren't real leather. Mine isn't real and sometimes I think faux leather jackets are nicer ( I don't really like that leather smell haha).

Disclaimer: since I work for Topshop I did get some of these pieces at a discounted price but that doesn't sway my opinion, I chose everything myself and I do love everything I'm wearing here :).
