Eyebrows on point

So I would never say on point in real life but thought it would make a good blog post name! I'm currently lazing on the sofa with a food baby after visiting a carvery and fancied blogging. So anyway my eyebrows are something I feel quite strongly about and cannot leave the house without having some sort of product in them. Now I feel eyebrows are a very personal thing so if you don't like the way I do my brows that's absolutely fine we are all able to have our own opinions but I do like how I do them... it would be boring if we all liked the same thing!

When I was 13 that's when I first ever had them waxed and since them I've went through periods of getting them waxed regularly and then periods where I will just pluck them myself. I personally find waxing a lot less painful but saying that I have had a few waxing disasters. One of the worst was when I was about 15 and I was left with a few strands of hair on each eyebrow I may as well have had none left, I looked like a crazy person! I mean they both have their pros and cons but I'm currently going though a plucking phase as it's convenient and quick and cheap as you don't have to pay to get it done. But I am wanting to go get them waxed as I like the finish it's neat and you don't have to keep plucking which hurts so much more! So if you live in the north east any suggestions on good places to get them waxed would be much appreciated :)!

One technique I've never tried with eyebrows is threading, which I've heard mixed reviews on and I've never tried HD brows which I would like to try but seems like such a long process when I fill them in daily any ways I don't know if there would be much point!

I would love to know what you do with your brows or if you leave them au naturale.

Speak soon :)

New year, new hair

So yeah I've been away for a while sounds stupid but I had set a schedule in place and having a full time job and trying to stick to another schedule you have set isn't as easy as it sounds. Well maybe it is but not for me haha I like to think I'm pretty organised but that could be debated. But I'm back and it's better late than never!
Since being quite young I've always liked experimenting with my hair and I've had it quite a few different colours and styles. I think the first time I experimented with my hair I was about 10 and my Mam let me get some electric blue hair extensions just a couple of strands dotted about my head I was absolutely chuffed with it haha! Didn't last too long but loved them while they were there! So naturally I have really dark brown hair which is quite thin but I have a LOT of it and with it being quite fine it tats so easily... Bain of my life! First world problems I know but I literally have to brush it for about half an hour to get all the tats out. I know most people would say it's because of how long my hair is and I should get it cut if I hate how much it tats but I've always wanted long hair and I'm just not ready to get rid of it yet! So any way I had been thinking for a good 6 months that I would like an ombré style but with an unusual colour. At first I was thinking of a black and green ombré a bit like what Kylie Jenner had at some point last year but the more I thought about it I was unsure about the green and changed my mind to purple. So after about 6 months thinking about it and researching good hairdressers to go to I finally took the plunge and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I love it ! The first day I got it done, all night I couldn't stop staring at it and telling my boyfriend to look at how beautiful it was... He must have been sick haha!

So it isn't the easiest hair look to maintain so every time or every other time I wash my hair I add more purple to the ends to keep it vibrant but I love it so much that I don't mind doing that at all. So I thought as I have rambled so much about different hair styles I have had I thought I would include a few pictures of different hair I've had over the years. I'll apologise now if some photos aren't great quality haha! Enjoy...

As a young 16 year old short brown hair but all I can look at is that awful blusher and eyeliner haha!

Bright red hair but same style as before and blusher just as bright haha!

Still bright red but the first signs of wanting a shaved side. The filter on this photo is not helping the blusher situation

So shaved side and going more of a salmon colour and yes I had crimped my hair haha I thought this looked great at the time!

Finally blonde took a while to get to this and shaved side but you can't see it in this photo.

Long blonde curls however this is thanks to hair extensions as my hair was snapping due to the amount of bleach on it!

Back to brown slightly longer hair and a fringe. Much better at make up too!

Long brown waves and a shorter fringe not much to say quite boring

Really long slightly ombré hair *drunk selfie* cringe

And now...
I love it!

Mitonia Review

So a couple of weeks ago I received an email off a brand called Mitonia. I had never heard of this brand before and they asked me if they could send me a couple of hair products for me to do a review on. Now if you have read my blog you will know I don't take as much care of my hair as I probably should do and I am always changing what I use on my hair. I've never found my "holy grail" hair products.
Anyways I had a look on the site which I have linked above for you and they are all about selling high quality cosmetics and hair care, they word it as bringing to the consumer the best of the best.
They have so many different products for different hair types and I was so excited to try out the ones they sent me.
The items they sent me were from the MQ Platinum and Diamonds collection. They were:

MIRIAM QUEVEDO PLATINUM & DIAMONDS LUXURIOUS SHAMPOO £28

MIRIAM QUEVEDO PLATINUM & DIAMONDS LUXURIOUS MASK £38.75

This collection aims to fight aging hair, restoring ultra-volume to the hair with extreme silkiness which has disappeared over time.
So first of all lets just admire the packaging, if you know me you know I love my packaging haha. It's black and sparkly, what more could you want?!  Obviously the price tags are a bit expensive but I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for and I think the packaging is a big part of that!
So I've tried both of these, I used the shampoo first and then the mask. Now, I suppose you could say I'm a bit sceptical about hair care but I have to say I found these two quite indulgent and luxurious. So both come out of the bottle quite metallic and sparkly which I obviously loved haha and both smell lovely as well. The shampoo lathered up really well there's nothing more I hate then when you use a shampoo and it takes half the bottle to actually work. This was the opposite you only need a little bit! I used the mask and left it on for 15 minutes. It did say to lather it up but I just covered the mid to bottom of my hair with the mask and it worked great.
Whenever I don't use conditioner on my hair when it drys it just feels awful which I was scared might have been the case with not using a conditioner but the mask did a great job at conditioning my hair and my hair felt amazing. My hair was so soft and shiny once it had dried so much so my boyfriend even noticed my hair haha! I would definitely recommend trying this brand if you fancy a splurge or treating yourself and once I've finished these bottles I am going to treat myself to some more hair goodies!
I just want to say that even though I was sent these this is my true 100% opinion as I would blog about something I didn't like, it's not my style (haha that's maybe a bit too cheesy for Christmas Eve!)
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas  and I'll be back soon!

Weightloss Wednesday- Body Fat

Hi lovelies

Hope you're all well! So if you read my blog you will know that it was my mission to lose weight after gaining 2 stone and get a more healthy lifestyle. After some hard work I am finally getting there but after getting a personal trainer and learning more about health and fitness I have learnt not to be sooo obsessed with what the scales say.

So recently it got me thinking that maybe I did think too much about what the scales were saying when really what I should have been basing my success on were my body fat results. Now my reason for thinking this is I've always wanted to get back to 8 stone which I was when I was 16 but looking back there was still parts of my body that weren't toned and I wasn't 100% happy with my body. So why was this my goal?!

I would be happy with my body when I'm toned (especially my tummy!) and have some definition- this doesn't necessarily mean being 8 stone! So how do you measure something like this?

Obviously those with toned tummies have a low body fat which is what my main goal over the next few months will be. To get the results I want it means having a lower body fat.

For those who maybe don't know how body fat is measured, it's measured by percentage and there is a few different ways of measuring it. Some scales measure it by sending a small electrical current through your body but with these it is debated how accurate they are. Another way is a manual way where different sections of your body are pinched by some clippers and then the results are added and out comes your percentage.

When I first got this done I was dreading my results and thought I would be off the chart haha! However I was pleasantly surprised with the result. It came out at 27% which is considered healthy. Now I'm not by any means saying this is the best result it was just better than I first thought. Since then it has dropped to 25%.

Now obviously these are just numbers to some people so I found this photo below to indicate what different body fat percentages look like. I'm not saying the photo is 1 million percent accurate but it's a good start. Obviously the percentages look different based on whether you are a man or woman as women naturally carry more fat on their body.

So my goal is to drop to around about 19% over the next couple of months. Depending on what my body looks like when I get there I will either work to maintain it or try and lower it by a percent or two. Personally I think this is a better way to measure success as now that I've lost a bit of weight it's all about tightening everything up! To do this I will be aiming to do at least 3 cardio sessions a week plus weight training at least 4 times a week.

I hope some of you found this interesting and maybe learnt something new :).

Holiday Blues

Hi lovelies,

Hope you're all well. So recently there have been no posts and not just because I haven't been able to fit in them in or whatever other excuse, it's because I have been on holiday!

I went to the beautiful Greek island Corfu and I fell in love with it. It was such a beautiful place with lovely people and such a relaxed atmosphere. I have to say it was one of the best holidays I've been on ... Ever! So obviously I had an amazing time, but now that I've been back a few days, the holiday blues have definitely arrived!

Now on one hand I'm feeling so sad and down because I had an amazing time and I wish I was still sat at the beach on my sunlounger or on a lilo in the pool but then on the other hand I hate feeling like I'm being ungrateful because some people don't even have the chance to go on holiday!

So I know I'm lucky that I have had this amazing experience but lets face it though when you have had an amazing holiday or break away, most of us do get the holiday blues. So I decided to look online to see what tips and tricks people have posted to getting over the holiday blues. I've picked my favourites and these are what I will be doing to get over mine. So if you want to know keep reading :).

1) Do Things You Love
Obviously you will need to go back to work or school but make sure you make time to do things you love to do too. This should make you feel more positive and therefore more happy. Writing this is helping me as it's making me realise how much I do love blogging. I'll also be getting myself to the gym as I really enjoy the gym now and can't wait to get back into the routine!

2) Have Something To Look Forward To
This for me is looking for my next holiday. Yes I know that I've only just came back but to beat these blues I need something to look forward to and what better than another holiday! Thomas Cook is a tab which is currently permanently open on my phone. If anyone has any suggestions of good holiday resorts let me know!

3) Positive Thinking
This is probably the hardest when all you want to do is be back in the sun but try and think about all the good things that are happening and all of the good memories you have which you made on holiday! Try and turn those negative feelings around! Sounds cliche but can definitely help. For example, I wish I was back on holiday can be turned around to I had such an amazing time on holiday can't wait for my next one!

4) Eat Well
You get out of your body what you put into it so by making sure you eat well should affect your mood positively and help avoid you feeling sluggish and tired. Although I have loved every minute of stuffing my face on holiday I am looking forward to eating healthily again as it makes me have more energy and will help me achieve the body I want! Like I've said before to get results it's meant to be 70% nutrition, 30% working out.

5) Share Your Memories
Don't just pretend it didn't happen as it might make it easier, talk to family and friends about it! Share your amazing memories with them, whether that's stories, photos, videos, share them all! I took loads of photos and normally I would just keep them on my phone but I'm going to get them printed off and put them in an album. Something people might see as not necessary but something I'm looking forward to!

So that's what I'm going to be doing to get rid of these holiday blues. Hope you've found this interesting and if you have any more tips share them below!

PhD Diet Whey Review

Hi lovelies,

So as you all know as part of my plan to lose weight I've had to change my diet to include more protein. At first this was a real struggle for me as I'm not a massive meat eater, I've always ate meat but it isn't my favourite thing to eat! So one way I've managed to get more protein into me is by taking protein powder.

I've tried a couple of brands but by far I've found the best tasting/ nicest texture is the PhD Diet Whey. Some others I've tried have been really watery and bit-y if that makes sense but this one is quite thick like a milk shake, I've actually started enjoying them. Another reason I get this one is that it's low carbs and high protein. Exactly what I'm needing :).

So the flavours I've tried are:
-chocolate peanut
-white chocolate
-chocolate orange

These are literally the easiest things to make. All you need is a shaker bottle, water and the powder itself. Another great thing about these protein powders is that you can mix them in with porridge and with yogurt. Also on the packaging it tells you all the measurements for making the shakes which I found so useful in the beginning (even though you can't go far wrong haha).

I will say the only con that I found was it was a bit hard getting used to the taste at first but that passed quick and like I said above I actually quite enjoy them now!

The way I mix mine is I use 300ml of water, a couple of ice cubes and 50g protein powder and then you shake it all up.

I hope this helps some of you or at least you found it interesting!

My Mac Wishlist

Hi lovelies,

Seeing as I go on holiday in less than a week (yayy!!!!!) I'm trying to be 'good' with my money but I keep finding myself on the Mac website. So easy to do right! So I've made a mental note of what items I need (definitely not a need haha) to add to my collection once I've been on my hols!!

So these are what I need ;)

1) Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade

So I'm kinda getting into looking dewy (never thought I would say that!) obvs soft and gentle has a lot of hype over it but seeing as I'm super pale I think this shade might suit me more.

2) and 3) Mac Lipliner and Lipstick in Stone

This colour.... Just amazing!

4) Mac Fix+

Since I'm after that dewy effect this seems like an essential :).

5) Mac Pro Sculpting Powder in Shadowy

Once again as Im so pale I feel when contouring I need something that is more grey toned as opposed to bronze. After searching high and low this looks like it might do the job!

Let me know what's on your makeup  wishlist :).
